HOPE Circles

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and
to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. —Acts 2:42

HOPE Circles are small groups from your family, neighborhood, or profession that intentionally connect two to four times per year to read the Word, pray for God’s will to prevail where you live and work, encourage and honor others creating solutions, and celebrate all that Christ is doing to transform lives and our cities.

Clarence,

Below is the text from the City Communion Follow-Up Email with info about HOPE Circles you might want to incorporate:

The Bible says that when two or more are gathered, the Lord is in our midst. When the Lord is present, He gives us the answers to questions that He wants answered, like–

  • What do You want to do in the OKC school classrooms?

  • How do You want to reduce crime and kids going into foster care?

  • What do You want us to do to increase communication among our neighbors?

  • How can we celebrate You in our streets?

These are the kinds of questions God loves to answer, and we like to ask them in HOPE Circles! Think of 2-3 people with a desire to know the answers to your particular questions as well and meet with them several times a year to seek the Lord for answers. When He gives you the answers, simply obey, leave the results to Him, and then celebrate!

This is how transformation happens in cities. It starts with professionals, families, neighbors, and friends gathering together to seek the Lord on behalf of the people in their city.

  • Invite Others

Invite someone in your field of work, your family, or your neighborhood to participate.

Who are 2-5 other Christians around me that have shared experiences–work together, live on the same street, or go to church together?

  • Read the Word

Studying the Bible together will help us connect with each other on a deeper level as we align with God’s thoughts about our individual lives and similar places of service.

What can we learn from God about how to bring hope and unity into our shared experiences and spheres of influence?

  • Pray Together

Aligning with God’s will helps us recognize where people in our workplaces and communities are struggling or lacking peace and direction. As a group, we bring these concerns to the Lord in prayer, seeking His will to be done through us in their lives.

What is God saying about the challenges we see that burden His heart?

  • Love Well

As we seek the Lord for answers, we also identify and support others who are creating solutions that are transforming lives.

What can we do to support each other and others during our time together and outside our HOPE Circle?

  • Celebrate Wins

As we continue to support and encourage others and look for ways to bring transformation, we celebrate victories along the way by having a meal together with our spouses or families sharing stories about the great things God has done.

When can we get our families together?
